Man, 29, Remanded in Prison for Alleged Murder, Armed Robbery

A Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo has ordered the remand of a 29-year-old man, Segun Oluwalogbon, for alleged murder and armed robbery
Presiding Magistrate, Mrs Sodamade Falilat ordered that the suspect be Kept behind the bar due to the gravity of the offence committed.
Oodua News Correspondent who was at the court during the proceeding on Wednesday reports that Oluwalogbon was charged for the allegations bordering on conspiracy, murder and armed robbery.
It was also gathered that the suspect committed the office April 7, 2016 at about 8:00 pm at Tinumola Area, Osogbo, Capital of Osun state.
The prosecutor, Mr. Mereti Wilson had told the court that Oluwalogbon and one other who is currently at large allegedly killed one Adedeji Awoyemi by using machete to cut his head.
Wilson further explained that the accused armed himself with cutlasses and rubbed one Jimoh Najeem of his Bajaj Boxer motorcycle with Reg. No: Osun GNN 570 QJ valued sum of N250,000
The offence according to the Prosecutor was contrary to and punishable under Section 324 and 319 (I) of the Criminal Code Cap 34. Vol. II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002 and Section 1 (I) and 1 (2) (A) (B) of Robbery and Firearms (Special provisions) Act Cap RII Vol.14 Laws of Federation of Nigeria, 2004″.
Court did not take the plea of the accused due to the criminal nature of the offence.
Ruling on the matter, Magistrate Sodamade ordered that the accused be remanded in custody at Ilesa prison.
Sodamade directed the police in charge of the case to duplicate and forward the case file to the office of Directorate of Public Prosecution for legal advise.
She, thereafter, adjourned the case till till March 20, 2017 for mention.
