Astute Alhaji Solahudeen Becomes Chief Imam of Two Communities

Bolajoko and Egbejoda Muslim Community of Woru, Agunbelewo in Osogbo will on Saturday 25th of March, 2017 (27th Jumadah Thanni 1438A.H) turban Alhaji Taofeeq Salahudeen as their Chief Imam.

Imam Taofeeq Solahudeen is a trained teacher, a trader and a farmer at the same time. His merchandising acumen with business dexterity has taken him to virtually every part of the country and even beyond, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The about to be turbaned cleric was a former Imam of Odofin Mosque, Alekuwodo and the current Imam of Olohuntosin Mosque, Bolajoko Estate Woru. He currently serves as the Imam of Odi-Olowo Mosque Ola-Iya, Osogbo.

Imam Salahudeen was former Vice president of M.S.S.N Al-Amanah Islamic Cooperative Society Branch, and three times chairman of Al-Birr (2) Islamic Cooperative Society. He is also the current Chairman of Imam Ratibs Ola-Iya, Odi-Olowo, Ogo-Oluwa, Alekuwodo, Dada Estate and Agunbelewo Zone.

Though born about five decades ago to the family of Pa. Solahudeen Adegbite of Akinyemi compound Oke-Male, formerly known as Oke-abesu area Osogbo, Imam Taofeeq began his own childhood at Onikanga’s Compound.

He had his Primary School Leaving Certificate at Ansarudeen Primary School, Isale – Osun, Osogbo between 1979 and 1985. He attended Muslim Grammar School, Osogbo and later studied Islamic and Primary Education Studies at Osun State College of Education Ilesa. He bagged his National Certificate of Education in 2005.

Alhaji Salahudeen acquired Islamic education at Arowomole Madrasah of Alhaji Imam Abdul Roheem Irorun and later attended Ansarudeen Madrasah Sabo Osogbo. His thirst for further Islamic studies acquired further Islamic knowledge took him to many renowned scholars Islamic clerics. He subsequently studied under the tutelage of Alhaji Abdur Razaq Oloyega,   Alhaji Sulaiman Salahudeen of Ifon-Osun town, Alhaji Abdul Ganiyy Dhuliqarinain, Alh Abdul Ganiy Afolabi, Ustadh Abdul Fatai Ibrahim and Ustadh Abdul Fatah Niami among others.

Commenting on the coming Saturday’s event, the Chief Imam of Okinni, Osun State, Alhaji Muheed Afolabi thanked Almighty Allah for elevating the amiable cleric to what he described as, “a well-deserved position”

“His contribution to the making of Bolajoko and Egbejoda Muslim Communities and to the entire Muslim Ummah, particularly in Osun State has been massive and today’s turbaning is indeed well deserved”

He wished Imam Salahudeen long life and sound health so that he will be able to discharge his duties to the benefit of the Ummah and humanity in general.

Imam Salahudeen is happily married with two wives and many children.
