Adamawa House Of Assembly Impeached Deputy Speaker, Announces Majors Changes
The Adamawa State House of Assembly has impeached its Deputy Speaker, Hon. Sunday Peter.
The motion for Peter’s impeachment was moved by member representing Uba Gaya in the Assembly, Muhammed Hayatu Atiku, and was signed by 17 members of the House.
The development was also followed by a motion for the dissolution of the leadership of APC in the House leading to election of Hon. Hassan Barguma as the Majority leader, Hon Abubakar Isa, representing Shelleng constituency, as the Deputy Majority leader and Adamu Usman as the Chief Whip.
The House also moved for the replacement of the minority leadership of the House, with Lusambani Dilli becoming the Minority Leader and Justina Nkom becoming the Minority Whip.
Officials have not, however, given reasons for the changes.
The state Assembly which has been on recess since August 9, resumed on Monday, to introduce the sweeping changes.
The embattled deputy speaker was absent at Monday’s sitting when he was impeached.
