7th Anniversary: Aregbesola Declares 367 Days Uninterrupted Progress in Osun

Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, declared 367-day progress in governance and development in the state.
Aregbesola promised the people of the state to expect more progress in the remaining 367 days to the end of his tenure.
The governor made the promise at Osogbo township stadium, Osogbo during the grand finale of Calisthenics competition to commemorate the 7th year anniversary of his administration, on Saturday.
Aregbesola, who disclosed that 28,000 students have so far been trained for the Calisthenics display, maintained that the exercise has improved the health, agility and mentality of the students.
He said: “We introduced this programme in 2012 and we have so far trained 28,000 students. We are inculcating the spirit of unity, team work, hardworking in the lives of the students through Calisthenics. We are preparing them for a world beyond.”
Commending parents of the students for their support, Aregbesola said the parents for the first time supported the programme by willingly buying the costumes for the students.
He explained that the prizes given to the participants were to develop sporting facilities in their various schools.
At the final competition, Osun Central Senatorial District won with a prize of N2m, West came second with a prize of N1m and Osun East third with a prize of N750,000.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the state Commissioner for Education, Mr. Omotunde Young, disclosed that 6,071 students were drawn in 22 middle schools across all the 9 federal constituency in the state for the Calisthenics.
Aregbesola said the event was another demonstration that his administration was ‘unique’ and dedicated to the improvement of students’ education and good living.
