An Open Letter To The Executive Governor Of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola By Integra Leadership Foundation
An Open Letter To The Executive Governor of The State Of Osun By Integra Leadership Foundation, Osun State, Nigeria.
Our dear Governor, we join millions of Osun citizens in appreciating your governance for the past seven years now in our dear State of Osun. We sincerely admire and salute your forthrightness, integrity and sense of patriotism.
It is believed that you are the expected Messiah who was to save Osun by your arrival as far back as 2010 with people trusted in your abilities to deliver to us a State of our dreams and as we consistently supported your aspirations till you finally become our Governor. Again, we supported you because of the content of your character and strong conviction of your deep sense of patriotism as showcased on your six points integral Agenda.
Evidently, your administration from 2010 to 2014 has made Osun indigenes to understand and confident that a failed and failing government can be successfully removed via ballot box without any shedding of blood which means democracy has taken another giant steps in its approach, growth and development in Osun as demonstrated in your emergence as the Governor of Osun State.
The above democratic approaches prompted us as a leadership organisation to write your esteemed office on the measures, criteria and qualities to be adopted or embedded in choosing your successor. Integra Leadership Foundation is an organisation born with objectives to operate as an advocate for good governance, scaling individual and collective solutions to our nation’s political and leadership challenges, adding value and transform Nigeria in general by fostering a new breed leadership, leadership engagement and new leadership culture that will have a pedigree to deal with the problems of Nigeria.
It is our primary mission to develop civic minded life leaders and professionals willing to put Nigeria people first and inspire others to do the same.
Mr. Governor sir, base on this, we writes you that the incoming Executive Governor who is expected to succeed you should be a vibrant young person, not above the age of 50years. As we all know, youth form the bedrock on which the society is anchored, hence leaders of tomorrow. If our dear State toys with the welfare and development of its youthful political participation, it could be said to be jeopardizing our future and survival.
Our dear State also needs an Economy Developer. Osun as a State is enormously endowed with abundant resources which needs an economic and financial expert to properly harnessed for empowerment and positive contribution to our state security and economic development, sustainable for the State of Osun. Such an expert should at least have vast knowledge on ICT and its effects on our dear state as is it a known fact that technology is a bedrock for economic development.
However, it is not a must that you are succeeded with an home based politician or someone who has gained political popularity. At this stage of global economic imbalance, our state needs a technocrat to the core, who is widely exposed to continue good precedence laid down in terms of good governance across the boards. Osun needs a resource that is intellectually sound who will not only await the Federal Monthly Allocations, but develop other means through which the state will be financially bouyant to continue the blueprint designed by your administration and that of State of Osun founding fathers.
In addition to the aforementioned qualities and prerequisites, for State of Osun to continue witnessing good governance and enjoy dividend of democracy, zoning arrangement must be totally discouraged or abolished in the coming political dispensation. This will avail the opportunity to discover the competent fit enough for the task.
In conclusion, it is high time the three senatorial districts speak in one voice and avoid sentiment to be in search for the right candidate with developmental programmes, accountability, strategic vision, responsiveness and optimism where all men and women will have a voice in decision making either directly or through legitimate intermediate institutions that respect their interest.
Thank you sir.
