Osun Utd 1-0 Warri Wolves; Omoyele’s Strike Earns Omoluabi Giants Win
Tosin Omoyele’s brilliant goal earned Osun United Football Club a 1-0 victory over Warri Wolves Football Club on Saturday in one of the Week 23 contests of the Bet9ja Nigeria National League.
The Omoluabi Giants saw off the Sea-siders at the Oshogbo Township Stadium and were more comfortable in possession, made the better attacking forays and made sure their rock-solid defence was not punctured.
Omoyele’s lone strike in the 51 minutes propelled Osun United to a deserved win over the strong-willed Wolves who posed some threats.
The former COD United gifted striker now has ten (10) goals from twenty (20) matches.
A statement after the game from Osun United’s media officer, Tunde Shamsudeen revealed that several moves made to increase the tally by the home team was stopped by the experienced Ameh Godwin, who was in goal for Warri Wolves forcing him to make breath-taking saves to deny Hakeem Olalere and Omoyele from point blank.
Wolves made some good efforts at scoring, but Osun United goalkeeper Nurudeen Lateef, was equal to the task.
Osun United have now garnered thirty-three (33) points from twenty-three (23) matches and will welcome My People FC next weekend at the Oshogbo Township Stadium.
