Osun APC Women Leader Lauds Aregbesola For Prioritising Women in His New Appointments
The Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Osun state chapter, Alhaja Kudirat Fakokunde has passed vote of confidence on the Governor of the state, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for being dedicated to the general welfares of the residents of the state especially women.
The number one woman of the APC in the state also lauded the leadership of the party for being uncompromised, unbiased and evened in all its decisions, policies and actions.
Fakokunde gave the commendation in her congratulatory and thankful message issued from the office of the Directorate of Publicity, Research and Strategy of the APC in the state.
The women leader expressed delight and satisfaction over the priority given to women by the state government in its recent nomination, describing the gesture as unprecedented in the political history of the state.
She said the announcement of many women by the state House of Assembly as part of those that made the list for Local Government Caretaker Committees; Commissionership as well as Special Advisership has reflected the rear passion of the present administration to the women’s welfares, growth and development.
According to her, the appointment of women in their numbers into various political offices this time around remains unusual, unprecedented and new in the political history of Osun as the good gesture was strictly in consonance with the Governor’s unprecedented system of governance.
“This is politics in action and a bold step to redeem the part and encourage better participation of women in politics.
“With this alone, we have set a new agenda for the party because to us, it a welcome development as this gesture would go a long way in strengthening our party, discourage political apathy among females and as well boost the women morale in participatory politics.
“So, on behalf of women in our party, our immeasurable thanks goes to our dynamic and unprecedented Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, his wife, Alhaja Serifat Aregbesola, the Deputy Governor, Mrs Grace Titilayo Laoye-Tomori, our party chairman, Prince Gboyega Famoodun and other political leaders that made this to happen.
“To us, this remains a reflection of the Governor’s all round transformation agenda in changing our state for better with emerging unprecedented developmental projects experiencing by the people of the state in every nook and cranny in the last 76 months”, she added.
While congratulating the nominees especially females among them, Fakokunde enjoined them to be law abiding and desist from any act that could tarnish the image of women they represent.
“All women appointed should see their appointment as a clarion call to serve humanity and prove themselves as a good mother and responsible home managers in the formulation of good ideas and policies that will make our state and all local government areas develop beyond expectations.
“This piece of advice must be championed and taken seriously because it is the only way women can be further entrusted to leadership positions”, she stated.
The state women leader further advised the women nominees to imbibe the habit of developing the state and their individual’s local governments, saying it is high time for them to justify their appointment by working assiduously for the unity and progress of the party, so as to win the forthcoming elections in the state and country at large.
She therefore charged the nominees to use their noble ideas as worthy women to complement the change mantra of the present administration, just as she implored them not to relent in giving their unalloyed support and loyalty to Aregbesola’s government as he continues to place the state to enviable heights ever known in history.
