Just In: President Buhari Put Off FEC Meeting

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting expected to hold today August 23, has been put off by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The weekly meeting has never failed to hold while Professor Yemi Osinbajo acted as President when the President was away on medical vacation.
Osinbajo presided over the FEC meetings in his absence.
However, the President will receive the report of the committee investigating allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Babachir Lawal and Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (DIA), Ayo Oke.
The committee was headed by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo but the report was not submitted before the President left for London on May 7.
The President will receive the report in his office at the Aso rock official residence of the President by 12 noon today.
In a statement released this morning by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, in Abuja said, “The meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) will not hold today.”
“President Muhammadu Buhari, will however, receive the Report of the investigation committee into the
allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the
Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayo Oke,
headed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo,
at 12 noon, in his office.”
