12 Persons Burnt To Death In Ife/Ibadan Road Accident

No fewer than 12 people including
women and children were burnt beyond recognition in a ghastly road
accident that occurred in Ile-Ife, on Sunday.
The accident occurred around 12:00 pm with oncoming 18 passengers but
collided with a oil tanker laden diesel that was making a u-turn.
One of the eyewitnesses, Oladele Mutiu, attributed the fault to oncoming Ondo/Ore white Urvan bus with Lagos Registration Number: MUS 702 XH going to Ibadan with high speed, thought he could manouover the truck.
Mutiu said that the extent of the damage was due to lack of quick response from the fire fighter that allowed the vehicle explodes and the passengers burnt beyond recognition.
According to him, the passengers tried all possible means to escape, but the flame of fire from the bus shocked them to death.
CityMirrorNews correspondent who was at scene of accident reported that people were using axes to remove the
carcass of the deceased from the bus.
Three passengers were said to have been rescued and taken alive to
Seventh-Day Adventist Private Hospital, but one of them was reported
dead on arrival.
CityMirrorNews reported none of the security personnel and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were met at the
scene.
