Veteran Nollywood Actor, Olumide Bakare Dies
Nollywood veteran, Olumide Bakare has died after battling with heart disease for some time.
The actor passed on in the early hours of Saturday morning.
His body has since arrived the University of Ibadan morgue.
In January 2016, Bakare was rushed to the University College Hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State after a cardiac arrest.
While he survived that episode, the late actor had admitted that the ailment started in 2013.
‘We have been treating this ailment since 2013, but you know things like that don’t go easily.
‘Sometime ago, the sickness resurfaced and I was rushed to the emergency unit of the University College Hospital, Ibadan where I have been admitted.’ he said.
A close source revealed that the actor had been discharged from the hospital and was treating the ailment indoors for a whole year due to insufficient funds.
Bakare starred in movies like Ise Onise, Aye Olorogun, Iboji, Oduduwa, Adesoro, awarding winning Maami produced by Tunde Kelani and more.
He will be remembered for his kingly roles and his dynamic acting prowess.
May his soul rest in peace.
