Some Akure High Chiefs Will Soon Be Given Staff Of Office—Odopetu

The Odopetu of Akure Kingdom, High Chief Michael Adelusimo Falade has said that the Ondo State Government will soon give staff of office to some High Chiefs in Akure which would elevate their position as traditional leaders in the state.
Falade who spoke in an exclusive interview with CityMirrorNews Correspondent at his Ijapo residence in Akure said the process to elevate them by the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo is already on.
He also listed the names of the High Chiefs to be elevated and given staff of office as the Odopetu, Lisa, Elemo, Aro, Asai and Ojomu.
“Odopetu is entitled to all the festival that Deji of Akure use to perform in every year.
“Now the present Deji is preparing to make the first six Oba like what we have in Ibadan.
“The king is doing for us so that the government will not impose Obas on him.
“Deji is proposing to make us- Obas that is Odopetu, Lisa, Elemo, Aro, Asai and Ojomu and the Governor will soon give us staff of office”.
Chief Falade who was born on March 3, 1935 and installed as Odopetu of Akure by the Late Oba Adelegan Adesida III also maintained that he was already a king in his domain but staff of office would be added to his position.
He also said that he can contest for the position of Deji and his children can also contest for the position in future.
Besides, Chief Falade during the interview advised the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji to keep his face from some High Chiefs that were elevated and given the staff of office by the Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi saying that the government has the power to make anybody as king anytime.
