Police Arraigned 3 Suspected Car Snatchers In Osun

An Osun State Police Command on Tuesday arraigned three suspected car snatchers before an Osogbo Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing one Toyota Hiece Hummer Vehicle, property of Ministry of Justice of the state.
The suspects; Hammed Salawudeen (27), Sarafa Adeyemo (26), and Yekin Salawudeen (67) were arraigned before the court on a two- count charge bordering on stealing, attempted theft.
The Prosecutor, Sergeant Duro Adekunle told the court that the accused persons on the 23rd of July, 2017, about 0600hrs at No 57, Church Street Oke-Onitea, Osogbo stole one Toyota Hiace Hummer Vehicle with registration number 05A-04-0S also with engine number JTGSX23P4B6109833 valued N7,000,000, a property of Osun state Ministry of Justice.
He added that the accused also conspired to steal on the aforementioned date, time and place.
The Prosecutor also stated that the allegation was contrary to Section 383(1) and punishable under Section 390(9)(10A) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Volume 11 Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.
Meanwhile, the Defendants who had no legal representatives pleaded not guilty to the allegations preferred against them.
Ruling on the matter, Magistrate Fatimah Sodomade granted the accused bail in the sum of N1,000,000 with 2 sureties in like sum.
As at the time of filing this report, the accused persons had not perfected their bail.
Magistrate Sodomade thereafter adjourned the case till September 25, 2017 for hearing.
