Gov. Lalong Further Relaxes Curfew In Plateau

The Plateau state governor, Barrister Simon Lalong has further relaxed the current curfew in the state.

The governor attributed this decision to improved security in the state.

This was disclosed in a release signed by Mr. Samuel Nanle, Director, Press and Public Affairs which was made available to City Mirror News correspondent in the state today.

It will be recalled that curfew was declared within Jos and Bukuru metropolis on Thursday the 14th of September 2017 from 6pm-6am and its subsequent relaxation on Sunday the 17th September, 2017.

The statement said that the governor has “approved a further relaxation of the Curfew from 12 midnight daily to 6am of the subsequent day, with effect from Thursday 21st September 2017, until further notice.”

He commended all “law abiding citizens and stake holders in the peace process on the plateau, for making the quick restoration of peace and security a success. He further calls on all communities to sustain vigilance and intensify community policing to forestall any situation that is likely to upset the hard earned peace in the state.”

The governor further “restated and reaffirmed the commitment of all Security operatives to ensure law and order always, in areas of concern within the metropolis that are currently being intensively patrolled and policed, to guarantee the safety and rights of all citizens to go about their businesses without let or hindrance.”
