Lasun Yusuff is ‘On His Own’ – Osun APC Chair
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Prince Gboyega Famoodun has disassociated the party from anything done by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Yussuff Lasun, describing him as a disobeyer.
According to Famodun, the party is not concerned about the actions of the Deputy Speaker because he did not do the bidding of the party on whose platform he got elected.
Speaking on a live political programme on a private radio station in Osogbo, the state capital, Famodun stated that since the party did not support Lasun to hold the position, it did not owe him anything.
His words: “The APC is not concerned with Lasun, he should be left alone, he is the one who knew how he got to where he is, and if anything happens to him on that post, we are not concerned in anyway.”
He said Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s role in the emergence of the APC cannot be underrated, stressing that his influence over the South West Zone of the party should not be questioned.
On the current home/Lagos based division within the party, Famodun maintained that the insinuation was alien to him as such is irrelevant to the present situation of the party and the state.
The APC Chairman explained that since the party is aiming to build on the legacies of Governor Rauf Aregbesola, anybody with impeccable character and distinct vision for development of Osun will be supported by the party.
“Anybody can come from anywhere, and in fact, the party will choose the best to lead Osun to the promised land”, he said.
Famoodun noted that the selection of candidates is constitutionally defined and that every action would be based on electoral guidelines.
