Fans Riot Halt Adamawa Queens, Osun Babes NWFL Match

The Nigeria Women Premier League week 12 encounter between Adamawa Queens and Osun Babes was on Wednesday evening abandoned after home fans went berserk.
With the game still at 1-1, a controversial call from the referee drew a protest from Osun Babes which did not go down well with the home fans, as they started throwing various objects at the visitors and subsequently invaded the pitch.
Osun Babes goalkeeper Linda Jiwuaku and midfielder Sarah Iloduba were hit by some of the flying objects and sustained injuries in the process, while the camera man Segun Alade was attacked by the angry fans.
The few policemen on ground could not control the situation and the match was discontinued.
Reliable information has it that Osun Babes goalkeeper Linda Jiwuaku is still receiving treatment for the injury sustained.
In an update posted on a forum while the situation lasted, Media Officer of Osun Babes FC, Olayinka Olawole decried the turn of events that happened in the game that took Osun Babes about 48 hours to honour in Yola, Adamawa State.
The away team opened scoring in the first quarter of the game before their hosts replied.
