The Anambra Central Traditional Rulers Council has expressed joy and gratitude to God for the answered prayers over President Muhammadu Buhari’s health and return to the country.

The Chairman of the council, Igwe Chukwuemeka Ilouno, told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Saturday that Nigerians should appreciate God Almighty for answered prayer on the health of President Buhari.

Ilouno, who spoke on behalf of the monarchs, said that it was not easy for a country as large as Nigeria in terms of size, population and diversities to stay without a substantive president.

“God in His gracious mercy heard our prayers and Mr President has recovered health-wise and returned to take up his mantle of leadership once again. It calls for celebration and thanksgiving to God.

“We, the monarchs in Anambra, are happy for the development and pray for Buhari’s stable health condition, henceforth,’’ he said.

Ilouno, who is also the traditional ruler of Ifitedunu community, said that Buhari needed to address so many challenges facing the country.

“we voted him so that he can alleviate the pains of citizens of this country.

“We will not cease, but continue to pray for his permanent and stable health condition,’’ the monarch said.

NAN recalls that President Buhari left Nigeria on May 7, for medical treatment in London after receiving 82 rescued Chibok school girls, who were abducted by the Boko Haram sect in April 2014.

While in London, Buhari received a number of visitors, including Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who first hinted Nigerians about the President’s recovery.

Other visitors were leaders of the All Progressives Congress, state governors, Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker Yakubu Dogara.

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, leader of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, also visited the President in London. (NAN)
