Man, 24 Docked For Robbing Blind Old Woman Feeding Allowance In Osun

Osun Police Command on Tuesday arraigned a 24-year-old man, Elijah Ademola before an Osun State Magistrate Court siting in Osogbo for allegedly stealing N15,000 feeding allowance of an old blind grandma in the state.
The prosecutor, Mr. Oladosu Joshua had told the court that the accused committed the offence on August 31, 2017 at about 10:30am at Kunfayakun area, Osogbo.
Joshua further explained that one Oluwatoyin gave the accused a sum of N15.000 (feeding allowance), the money which was paid through the accused’s bank account.
The police Prosecutor said though the accused denied receiving the money but the investigation launched on the allegation revealed that the said amount was paid to his account.
Joshua said, ” based on the complain of Oluwatoyin, we followed him to his bank where we obtained statement of account of the accused person and it was confirmed that he (accused) had received and withdrew the money.
The offense according to Prosecutor was contrary to and punishable under Section 383 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2003.
But the accused pleaded not guilty to the allegation levelled against him.
Defense Counsel, Mrs. Raji Abiodun applied for the bail of the accused person in the most liberal terms.
In his ruling, the Magistrate, Mr. Ashiru Ayeni granted the accused person bail in the sum of N10,000 and one surety in like sum.
He therefore adjourned the case till October 13 for hearing.
