Fuel Scarcity Bites Harder In Ondo

Commercial activities in the major cities of Ondo state have continued to crippled following the scarcity of petrol as consumers of the product (petrol) are now finding it tough to get it for their usage especially in the city of Akure, the state capital.
The lingering fuel scarcity has attracted long queues in some petrol stations that have the product for sale in the state.
Aside this, the price of the product has also been jerked up from the official pump price of N145 per litre to N170 and N200.
Findings by CityMirrorNews correspondent revealed that the few petrol stations which have the product now hoards the product and prefer to sell only night to amaze profits.
The action has caused untold hardship on motorists mostly commercial vehicle owners also known as taxi drivers who trade their transport business in Akure, the state capital.
The continuous hoarding of the product from consumers have being causing the shortage of vehicles on the major roads of Oba Adesida and Oyemekun routes.
Many civil servants in the workforce of the state are also complaining as they too now get to their respective places of work beyond the official time of 8am.
A taxi driver, Bode Adewumi who spoke with our Correspondent explained how he has been sleeping at the fuel station to get the product inside his vehicle.
Mr. Adewumi wondered why the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) being led by the President, Muhammadu Buhari has failed to provide a lasting solution to the lingering fuel crisis.
He also queried the stands of the Ondo State government under Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on the nefarious activities of the oil marketers and dealers who are in the habit of hoarding fuel in their station.
On her part, a business woman at the Adegbola junction, Rashidat Omowole pleaded with the government to urgently resolved the nationwide fuel crisis as the festivities approaches.
