Fear Of Allah, An Antidote To Current Socio-Economic Woes-Cleric
An Islamic Cleric, Sheik Babatunde Yusuf has urged Nigerians to fear Allah in their dealings with one another as in this lies the solutions to the numerous problems facing the country.
Sheik Babatunde made this call while delivering a lecture titled Islam and Politics at the 2017 Ramadan/Iftar Programme organised by Tiwa n Tiwa Losun, a socio-political group on Sunday in Osogbo.
The scholar said ” if Nigeria must return to its days of prosperity, every citizen involved in politics and politicking must do so with fear of Allah SWT”.
He also stated that the current situation of the country is the handiwork of not only the politicians but also the entire citizenry because politics in Nigeria is full of deceits and atrocities which only reflects what is in practice in every sector of the national life.
In his own lecture titled Jihad/Terrorism : the position of Islam, Imam Imran Daud Molaasan, Ameer Ja’amatu Ta’awwunil Islam, said Islam abhors terrorism.
Molaasan condemned terrorist activities and noted that Islam symbolizes and preaches peace and peaceful co-existence.
He urged Nigerian muslims to be active in nation building through politics.
The programme had in attendance Imam Adepoju Ayatullahi, Ustadh Abdullateef Abajaoro and other notable political and community leaders across the length and breadth of the state.
Members of Tiwa n Tiwa losun from across the 30 local government areas of the states and other attendees were treated to sumptuos Iftar meal at the end of the programme.
