Time To Replenish Our Heritage; Let’s Plant And Water A Tree To Maturity

Do you know that as human being you play a role in the condition of your environment? Good or bad you and I play one role or more.

I do not write this post to discuss the good condition of human environment because it has continued to go bad each day.

I’d rather ask you to follow the popular call to improve human environment. The latest and immediate call today is REPLENISHMENT OF HUMAN HERITAGE-our garden-world.

The scriptures present the picture of the first abode of man as very green and lustrous.

Trees… yes tree and other plants families like shrubs existed abundantly. No sooner man multiplied on earth than this heritage depleted. And that was the beginning of various weather anomalies currently being recorded globally. This has affected every existence. But there is hope.

The ozone shield is a region of Earth’s stratosphere that absorbs most of the Sun’s ultraviolet radiation. It had depleted badly until recent studies and findings.

Ozone layer depletion promotes skin cancer due to the exposure of human skin to Ultra Violet rays from sun. This can lead to increased risk for developing of several types of skin cancers. It also encourages eye damage as a result of UV rays to human eye. UV are harmful for our eyes.

However today, scientists have reported reduction in the hole on the ozone layer. This is due to the global awareness and and actions taken in that regard. And really, that cost lots of funds deployed to researches and global policy drafts and implementations.

The latest call, a clarion one, requires more of individual actions. It costs little or no capital- PLANT A TREE IN YOUR COMPOUND TODAY. WATER A TREE AROUND YOU TODAY.

People cut down 15 billion trees each year and the global tree count has fallen by 46% since the beginning of human civilization. The implications of this statistics is that every individual, including, a new child born in November this year is responsible for falling two trees everyday.

According to the most recent United Nations estimates elaborated by Worldometers, current world population is7.6 billion as of November 2017.

Let’s replenish our world. Let’s bring life back into our world. PLANT A TREE IN YOUR COMPOUND TODAY. WATER A TREE TO MATURITY AROUND YOU.
