The two OWU prominent leaders jointly made this call in their separate remarks at this year 26th Annual Convention held in the Cultural Centre Ibadan, Oyo State.

Giving the graphical details of key principles that guide and give Life to the Convention, Obasanjo and Oba Oyelude said that OWU Annual Convention is a product effort of urgent needs and burning desires of OWU members both home and abroad to fastrack human developments among its kindred and Nigeria communities which hope to generate positive ripple effects in the areas of essential human interventions ranging from unalloyed cooperation, support, scholarship schemes, helping hands to the less fortunate and among others.

” OWU Annual Convention is a set-goal initiative that was formed twenty six years ago with intent to foster unity of purpose, identifying with one another both in the moment of strength and weakness especially creation of innovative ideas to move the Kingdom forward”, they said.

The duo, therefore, appealed to all its fifty six members for a better brotherhood among the Owu’s kindred across the World, particularly in African Nations.

Delivering his lecture titled “THE IMPACT OF OWU IN IBADANLAND” the Guest Lecturer, Mr. Tomori affirmed that OWU Kingdom was indeed a product of Invasion and War Vestiges but which has proven itself as a living testimony of good dispersion of seeds in Ibadan land and Nigeria as whole, admonishing them to forge an inner strength amidst their challenges.

Also speaking in their earlier address of welcome, the OWU National President General, Ekundayo Opaleye and Current chairman, Supreme Council of OWU Obas, the Olowu and Paramount Ruler of the OWU Kingdom Abeokuta, Oba Olusanya Dosumu stressed the need for all OWU families to be one and eschew any action that could be counter productive to the aims of the Convention and Kingdom as a result of personal interests, rather they should work towards its eternal survival as a symbol of future.

In his vote of thanks, the Host, Chief Tesleem Abiodun Olugbode and head of OWU Ibadan noted that it has been a great honour to his personality and family to have played host to such an epoch making event in the annal of OWU history which he regarded as a privilege while appreciated everyone who has made it possible.
