Osun 2018: Lasun Yusuff Consults Ooni, Gets Royal Blessing

The Ooni of Ife,  Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II has expressed optimism in the candidature  ‎of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Sulaimon Lasun Yussuff for the governorship of Osun State in 2018 State election.

Yussuff according to a press statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Wole Oladimeji and made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo, used the occasion to inform Ooni of his intention to contest for the governorship position in 2018 election.

The foremost traditional ruler expressed this when Lasun Yussuff visited him in his palace on 17th September 2017 during his governorship consultation in Ile Ife.

The Oba said, having assessed Lasun’s track records that he is convinced that Lasun would deliver and improve the lives of people of Osun State.

Ooni expressed concern over poor performances of  past leaders in government and urged the  Deputy speaker to see himself as a servant not a leader so that he would be able to serve well as the best governor  of the state.

“I know you are a farmer and that you have being helping farmers in the state. At times I borrow some of the tractors you donated to farmers, I will help you develop farming in the state if you emerge governor”, he assured.

He promised to give all the needed supports for Lasun Yussuff to emerge as the next governor of Osun State in 2018.

Speaking, the Deputy Speaker, promised to elevate Ile-Ife as the capital of Yoruba race if voted to power in Osun State come 2018.

He promised that from this moment he would use his present position and personal ability to ensure that Ile-Ife is placed in its  enviable position in the country.

De‎puty Speaker also promised to improve agricultural sector in order to provide job opportunities to unemployed people in the state.

He said that no nation can develop without improving agricultural sector and  a substantial percentage of  the state annual budget would be considered for  agriculture.

He  also promised to embark on skill acquisition which is the key to any meaningful development, assuring his audience in the palace that all infrastructural development would be tailored towards  real and physical economic requirements of the state.

Ooni therefore poured torrential blessings on Lasun Yussuff and decreed that God Almighty shall be with him and lead him to become the Governor of Osun State in 2018.
