New Cabinet: Aregbesola Drops Bolorunduro, Akere, Ilori, Others
Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s new cabinet list has shocked people in Osun State as some popular members of his last cabinet are missing on the list submitted to the state House of Assembly for confirmation.
Some of the people had expected that two strong members of the Aregbesola’s first term cabinet would get a return ticket on a platter of gold for their contributions to the governor’s administration in his first term.
But the people holding this view were disappointed as Aregbesola refused to nominate the two in his new cabinet.
They are: former Commissioner for Finance, Dr Wale Bolorunduro and former Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Sunday Akere.
The duo and the former Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties, Dr Basiru Ajibola, were the most prominent members of the Aregbesola’s cabinet in the first term.
Ajibola has been reappointed by the governor in his new cabinet but Akere and Bolorunduro failed to make the cabinet.
Former cabinet members who are not returned are:
Former Commissioner For Environment and Sanitation Prof Olubukola Oyawoye,
Former Commissioner For Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr Muyiwa Ige,
Former Health Commissioner, Mrs. Temitope Ilori, who is the daughter of former governor of the state, Chief Bisi Akande.
Attorney-General and Commissioner For Justice, Mr Wale Afolabi,
Former Special Adviser For Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs. Funmi Eso-Williams,
Former Special Adviser on Works and Transpor Sabitu Amudah,
Former Special Adviser (Security Matters) Amos Adekunle.
