Salary: Osun Govt Hails Workers on Understanding, Steadfastness

The Osun state government has lauded workers in the state civil service on their understanding and steadfastness in the payment on modulated salary, which was compelled by financial challenges that greeted the state.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy of the state, Mr Adelani Baderinwa stated this while addressing members of the Network of Non Governmental Organisations who paid him a courtesy visit on Friday.

According Baderinwa, the state workers have exhibited good sense of responsibility with the payment of modulated salary, saying that history will place the civil servants well in the story of the state.

He stated that Governor Rauf Aregbeola held the workers in high esteem and he is very appreciative of their sacrifices.

Baderinwa maintained that when the state finances increase, the civil servant would be adequately taken care in term of normal salary payment and other emoluments, stating that Aregbesola is committed to their wellbeing.

The commissioner urged members of the NETNOS to support the state government by enlightening the people on the importance and purpose of the programmes, policies and projects of the Aregbesola’s administration.

He noted that the NGOs are reaching the people directly and have access to information, enjoining them to make sure that the people at the grassroots are well informed on the activities of the government.

Baderinwa stated that the state government is doing well on social protection programmes which NETNOS and other NGOs are canvassing for, adding that the Aregbesola’s administration does not condone human, child and woman abuse.

Reacting, the NETNOS president, Comrade Ibrahim Olayinka acknowledged the social intervention programme of the Aregbesola’s administration, disclosing that the group was ready to partner the state government on orientation and enlightenment of the people of the state.

Olayinka stated that they visited the ministry of information and strategy knowing that it is the engine room of the government where information emanates and flow to the public, adding that the NGOs were ready to give suggestions and ideas that would assist the government in sustaining good governance.
