Aregbesola Refuses to Meet Osun Lawmakers, Runs to Lagos
A breakfast meeting that was supposed to hold between Governor Rauf Aregbesola and members of the Osun State House of Assembly was canceled, it was learnt.
Aregbesola reportedly refused to meet with lawmakers as scheduled on the Governor’s manifest on Wednesday, March 15, 2017.
Instead of meeting with the lawmakers, the governor left the state for Lagos where he went to attend to some issues surrounding the forthcoming local government election in Lagos state, according to sources.
Issues to be discussed at the meeting, according to a lawmaker who prayed not to be named, included the appointment of cabinet members and local government caretaker committee, and the 2017 budget which has not been passed.
The disappointed lawmakers conveyed at the quarters of the Speaker, Hon Najeem Salam and held a meeting there.
CityMirrorNews gathered today that the lawmakers agreed at the meeting that they would not go on recession as planned to make themselves available for the appointment of state cabinet and local government caretaker members anytime the governor is ready.
Details of their resolution at the meeting were not relayed to CityMirrorNews.
