Akwa United Beat Niger Tornadoes To Win AITEO Cup

Akwa United FC of Uyo in Akwa Ibom State on Sunday evening won the 2017 AITEO Cup.
The Promise Keepers defeated opponents, Niger Tornadoes 3-2 via penalties after a barren draw in the regulation time.
The final which attracted dignitaries from far and near including the CAF President, Ahmad Ahmad, Governors Akinwumi Ambode of Lagos State and Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State.
The winners went away with $82,000 with sealing a spot in the 2018 CAF Confederations Cup while the Runners Up, Niger Tornadoes were rewarded with N10 million.
The AITEO Cup is the new name for Nigeria’s oldest Club Football Cup competition, Federation Cup after it got new sponsors.
