120-Year-Old Man Arraigned For Alleged Fraud In Osun
The Osun State Police Command has dragged a 120-year-old grandpa Chief Busari Oyewunmi, before a Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo for alleged fraud.
Chief Oyewunmi was said to have obtained the sum #400,000 (four hundred thousand naira) from one Alhaji Ganiyu Adebisi under the pretence of selling a plot if land to him but failed to do so.
Police prosecutor, Olatidoye Joshua told the court that the accused person and others at large sometimes in the 2012 at the back of Portland Area, in Osogbo conspired together to wit obtaining money under false pretence.
The charge sheet read in part: “That Chief Busari Oyewunmi did fraudulently obtained the sum of #400,000 from one Alhaji Ganiyu Adebisi with pretence to sell a plot of land to him measuring 50ft by 100ft located at the back of Powerline area, Osogbo knowing fully that your intentions was to dupe him of his money “.
Joshua said the offence committed contravened sections 516(a) and 419 laws of Osun State, 2003.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the three count allegations levelled against him.
Pleading, the counsel to the accused, Opeyemi Adewale prayed the court to grant the accused bail in the most liberal terms.
In her ruling, Magistrate Fatimah Sodamade granted the accused bail in the sum of #400,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned to 11th December for hearing.
