Attack on Court: Osun Chief Judge Suspends Judicial Proceedings in Ilesa Jurisdiction
Fisayo Oyeyinka
The Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Adepele Ojo has reportedly suspended judicial proceedings at both High and Magistrate Courts in Ilesa jurisdiction.
CityMirrorNews learnt that the directive came on the heel of the incessant attacks on courts in Ilesa and its environs.
It would be recalled that some unknown gunmen had on Monday morning set ablaze a section of the Ilesa High court and attacked the security men on duty.
According to sources in the judiciary, Justice Ojo and other stakeholders in the judiciary could no longer bear the incessant attacks on the courts, hence the resolution to suspend judicial activities at the Ilesa jurisdiction indefinitely.
The Monday’s attack was the third of its kind on the Ilesa High Court within a year.
The medium learnt that the High court 2 that was set on fire was being presided over by Justice Isiaka Adeleke.
When contacted for comment on the matter, the Chief Registrar of the state, Mr Lawrence Arojo refused to comment on the matter.
