Ondo NSCDC Arrests Two Pastors Over Alleged Fraud, Sexual Abuse

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ondo State Command has arrested two clergymen for allegedly defrauding and sexually abusing the innocent worshipers in their respective churches.

While parading the duo Pastors before newsmen on Wednesday at his office in Akure, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, Idebo Awilli Pedro said they were arrested after some church members reported the criminal activities of the duo to the Corps and were later busted in a sting operation.

The self acclaimed Pastors, Dada Babaroti and Clement Fabeku according to NSCDC boss had been extorting the unsuspecting worshipers by using diabolical and fetish means.

He revealed that Fabeku operates the Truth and Life Bible Church located in Ilorin, Kwara state capital while Babaroti as the General Overseer of the Blood of Jesus Christ, in Idanre area of the state.

The State Commandant stated that some fetish items used in swindling the victims were recovered from the two suspects.

According to him, the criminal activities of the culprits mostly in using fetish means forced some church members to report the duo to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps office in Akure.

“They also obtained various sums of monies running into millions of Naira from members of their congregations under the false pretenses.

“And the section 3 (1) G expressly empowers the Corps to monitor the activities of religious bodies and trade association.

“We use this opportunity to warn the fake clergymen and women to urgently relocate from the state or face the law of the land.

He, however, said that the command has began a clamp down on fraudsters in the state and would team up other sister agencies in ensuring criminals are prosecuted.
