Osun Utd 3-1 Heartland: Chinedu Emmanuel’s Brace Propels Omoluabi Giants Win Over Naze Millionaires
Osun United Football Club on Saturday defeated visiting Heartland FC 3-1 in a Bet9ja Nigeria National League Match Day 26 fixture at the Oshogbo Township Stadium.
Former COD United winger, Chinedu Emmanuel, grabbed a brace in the Omoluabi Giants emphatic win over the Naze Millionaires who are topping the Southern Conference of the second tier league.
Chinedu, opened scores in the 10th minute after nice work from Obasi Chigozie and Hakeem Olalere, gave him the chance to tap home to send the sumptuous spectators into wide jubilation.
Osun United joy was cut short when Akinade Moses, equalised for the visitors in the 11th minute after a goalkeeping error from Ayo Ojo.
Chinedu completed his brace in the 30th minute with an assist from Jide Fatokun.
Heartland safehand Ebele Obi, in the 33rd minute made a brilliant save to deny Chinedu, his third goal.
Yusuf Aderemi, scored United’s third goal of the game one minute before the half time with a sublime finish off an assist from Tosin Omoyele, to make the game beyond the reach of the hard-fighting visitors.
Heartland came back into the second half stronger and were rewarded with a 75th penalty which was brilliantly saved by Ayo Ojo, who goes the right way and save Francis Momoh’s kick.
Osun United are now 7th on the table log with 39 points from 26 matches and will hope for a better result as they will be guest to Go Round FC next weekend at the Krisdera Stadium, Omoku.
