2019 Election: Be Wary Of Sagay, Group Tells Buhari

The Progressives Youths Alliance (PYA) has warned President Muhammadu Buhari to be wary  of the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay and others ahead of the 2019 elections.

The group accused Sagay and others of attempting to cause disaffection in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

National coordinator of the group, Adamu Musa who spoke with journalists in Akure during the inauguration of the group new coordinators in South West, alleged that Sagay was acting the script of the oppositions within the party.

According to him, Sagay has intentionally taken up the job of discrediting the leadership of the APC in order to weaken the structure and popularity of the party.

Adamu noted that the recent outburst of Sagay was only part of the opposition’s strategy towards the 2019 elections.

His words, “Within the APC, it is no longer news that some over ambitious people have employed Sagay to do the dirty job of discrediting the leadership of the APC

“Their strategy is simple, discredit Oyegun led APC leadership, cause disaffection between him and the President and cause crisis within the party

“Sagay’s handlers have mapped out the strategy that was part of the reasons the PDP was axed even while in government at the Federal level

“The party and the government have always been on the same page on policies and programs. As a matter of fact, the anti-corruption crusade of the President is very key to the leadership of the party

“Again, those who are eyeing Buhari’s job, have decided to drop little money for Sagay to front the hatched dirty job. That’s people are the opposition in the party

“More than ever, President Buhari must be careful of Sagay and the rest of these people. They do not mean well for him and the party. They are on another mission entirely “.

The group also challenged Sagay to expose one act of corruption being perpetrated by the leadership of the APC.

The PYA wondered why Sagay who was sacked from University of Benin (UNIBEN) over allegation of gross misconduct, would turn around to be the mouthpiece of corruption.

“Rather than shutting his mouth, Sagay who was sacked from UNIBEN over gross misconduct have continue to preach corruption

“This man is ironical to the position he is holding as Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption. He is corruption personified

“We have it on good authority that Sagay don’t just talk, he speaks for money. Is this the kind of man Nigerians are listening to”. PYA said.
