Those Calling For The Scrapping Of SARS Are Criminals – Oyo Police PPRO

Following the issuance of a 21 ultimatum to the federal government to scrap Special Anti-Robbery Squad by a group, #EndSARS, the Public Relations Officer of Oyo State Police Command, Adekunle Ajusebutu has described the people advocating for the scrapping of Special Anti-Robbery Squad unit of the Nigerian Police as criminals.

Adekunle Ajisebutu said that no law abiding citizen in the country would ever advocate for scrapping of SARS but rather call for restructuring or reorganisation of the the institution.

According to him”Advocating for scrapping of SARS is tantamount to advocating for abolition of tertiary institutions because of cultism ”

Ajisebutu opined that considering the tremendous achievements they have recorded in other parts of the country as regards fighting heinous crimes since its inception, no lover of the country would ever advocate that SARS should be scrapped.

“SARS was created to solve certain problems in the society, problems relating to human heinous crimes especially armed robberies” he said.

He pointed out further that SARS remain an important arm of the Nigeria Police that have been performing excellently.
