Pastor Invited My Murdered Mum To Church, Son Cries Out

A 72-year-old woman, Mrs Ajisomo Lawson was allegedly killed for ritual
purpose after she was invited by her Pastor, Mr. Taiwo Elijah to Ode Irele,
the headquarters of Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Investigation revealed that the deceased, who is a member of the ‘Sekunderin Christ Nation Church’ in the area was said to have been invited by Pastor Elijah in charge of the Church, Ode Irele from her village in Liseri for a revival last week Friday.
It was learnt that, after the meeting with the pastor and the revival was no longer holding, he (Elijah) arranged for a motorcycle to take the woman back to her village. But for several hours the woman did not return to her village.
Sequel to the development, a search team was raised to search for the
deceased. The team was said to have found her lifeless body in a bush at
the Irele oil palm plantation on Irele-Ore road while parts of her body were allegedly removed by the suspected ritualists.
A source said, the private part, breasts and two eyes balls of the woman
had been removed by the suspected killers.
While speaking with our Correspondent in a phone call, one of the children
of the deceased, Mr Michael Joseph said that he was called by his younger
sister on Saturday that they didn’t know the whereabouts of their mother since
Friday and it was the Pastor that invited her for a programme in Church.
Joseph maintained that when they gotten to the Pastor to ask for whereabouts of their mother, the Pastor denied that the deceased was not the member of his Church and she did not attend revival whenever its holding.
He said that the person they suspected has been arrested and taken to the
state CID, Akure for interrogation and investigation over the saddening
incident.
When contacted, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi
Joseph confirmed the incident but said it was not clear yet if the deceased
was killed by ritualists.
He said ” We can not say for now if it was a spiritual killing because before the deceased’s body was found her body was already decomposing, so one can’t say yet if parts of her body were removed. But we are waiting for the result of autopsy to determine the cause of the death. ”
The PPRO also disclosed that one person, who is a member of the pastor’s church had been arrested in connection with the death of the woman, saying the suspects was helping the command in the investigation.
