N’A Passes 2017 Appropriation Bill Next Week-Sha’aba Lafiagi

The National Assembly has concluded plans to pass the 2017 Appropriation Bill in the next couple of weeks.
Chairman, Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence, Senator Mohammed Sha’aba Lafiagi disclosed this in his country home, Lafiagi, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State while fielding questions from newsmen.
Lafiagi noted that all Ministries, Parastatals and Agencies had defended their proposals, pointing out that the Committees are currently deliberating on it “and would provide feedback to the Committee on Appropriations once everything is tidy up”.
On the Xenophobic attacks in South Africa, the legislator stressed the need for broaden the bilateral relationship existing between Nigeria and other countries.
The law maker explained that the issue would be tackled diplomatically, saying that the World is inter-related, “but the Nigerian Parliament would ensure that the attack is put to an end and forestall its re-occurrence in future”.
On the reconstruction of some of the federal roads in Kwara State, the Senator hinted that some of the dilapidated federal roads in the State had been captured in this year’s budget for reconstruction.
He assured that the reconstruction would commence immediately the appropriation bill is passed into law, adding that the people of the state, especially the people of Kwara North that the bad roads would be fixed soon.
