Thousands of youths in Jos, Plateau state, today trooped out to celebrate the return of President Muhammadu Buhari who just arrived Nigeria from an extended health vacation in London earlier this morning.
The youths gathered at the popular Zololo area of Jos North Local Government to celebrate and give thanks to God for granting Buhari a good health and safe return.
They expressed their happiness and pray for full recovery of the President while hoping for better governance.
While addressing the country from the State House, shortly after arriving from London, President Buhari said he was fully committed to serving the nation while thanking Nigerians for their prayers.
President Buhari said: “I am deeply grateful to all Nigerians, Muslims and Christians alike who have prayed and have continued to pray for my good health.
He stated that their prayer is a testimony of their support to his government.
Speaking on the need to reposition the economy, Buhari said that he had been conscious of the challenges faced in repositioning the economy of the country and that it would receive more attention.
The president said: “I am pleased with the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who provided good leadership during his stay in London for medical attention.”
In a statement released by Mr. Femi Adesina after his meeting with cabinet members, Service Chiefs, some state governors and others, the president said he had planned to take a vacation in January, 2017, after asking the Vice President to take a holiday in December, 2016.
President Buhari pointed out that the team spirit with the Vice President would be further strengthened in tackling the myriad challenges in the economy.
