Police Arraign Septuagenarian, Herbalist for Possession of Human Skull in Osun

A septuagenarian, Idris Ajao, and a 48-year-old herbalist, Tajudeen Akonife have been arraigned at an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly be in possession of a human skull.
Ajao and Akonife were arraigned before Magistrate Olusola Aluko on a two-count charge of conspiracy and unlawful possession of human skull on Monday.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Mireti Wilson, told the court that the accused were arrested with a human skull on December 29 at Iwo in Osun State.
According to Mireti, the suspects conspired to get the human skull to be used for charm.
He said that the alleged offences contravened Sections 516 and 329 (A) of the Criminal Code of Osun, 2003.
But the accused person entered a not guilty plea to the charges.
Magistrate Aluko, however, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 and two sureties each, just as he adjourned the case till February 28 for mention.
