Osun Assembly Task Nominees on Sacrificial Service
The Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Najeem Salaam, has advised the Commissioner and Special Adviser nominees of Governor Rauf Aregbesola to avoid the temptation of falling into the trap of greed, if confirmed.
This is contained in a statement by issued by the Chairman, House Committee on Information and Strategy, Hon Olatunbosun Oyintiloye.
Oyintiloye quoted the speaker during the screening of the nominees at the plenary on Tuesday in Osogbo the Oṣun state capital.
The speaker urged the nominees to be focused, embraced humility and see their nomination as a call to sacrificial service.
Salaam, also warned the nominees to accord respect to the high and the low, including members of the assembly, saying the lawmakers are in the front burners of service.
“I urge you to work with House of Assembly; we only demand not demand respect we deserve it from and nothing more.
” It should be known to you that we are partners in progress in the development of the state”.
Salaam, also urged the nominees to treat the people of the state with utmost respect, saying the time the party would returned to them for electoral favour was fast approaching.
The speaker who noted that he was not envious of the nominees because of economic cash crunch, said they have to stretch themselves to get the desired results.
“You have my sympathy because the tea party had long gone and you have to contend with civil servants who have been piloting the ministries in the last two years.
” You will have to demonstrate capacity to your principal and you have to show people who are looking up to you for result of your resolve to get things done.
