Tension: 7 Feared Dead, Many hospitalized in Hausa, Yoruba Clash in Ile-Ife
Tension has pervaded the cradle of Yoruba race, Ile-Ife, following the deadly clash between the Hausa and Yoruba people.
No fewer than seven people were feared killed and many hospitalized in the attack that has thrown the ancient town into confusion.
But the casualties figure has not been confirmed by any of the security agency.
CityMirrorNew learnt that the policemen earlier deployed to the city were stoned by the angry mob before the police reinforced.
Eye witnesses said police vehicles were seeing carrying corps at Sabo where the crisis started.
The police and soldiers were patrolling major streets in the ancient town were the clash might resurfaced.
Ife indigenes, as at the time of filing this report were protesting at the Ooni’s palace, but the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has not come out to address the protesters.
