Senator Omoworare Sponsores NIDSA 2017 Summer School In Osun

The 2017 edition of the annual summer school for secondary school students organised by the National Association Ife Descendants Students Association which was sponsored by the Senator Representing presenting Osun East (Ife/Ijesa) Denatorial District, Senator Babajide Omoworare came to an end with a grand finale celebration and award ceremony for outstanding students at the Oba Okunade Sijuwade Memorial Hall, Enuwa, Ile-Ife today.

The event which started about 6 weeks ago is a traditional programme usually organised by NIDSA to keep students busy during the long vacation.

This year’s edition which was attended by over 4,000 secondary school students enjoyed the sponsorship of Omoworare and support of other illustrious sons of Ife.

The summer school featured all secondary school subjects from the junior to high school covering all fields of study.

The students were also taken through moral, leadership and academic excellence workshop to prepare them for the future.

Outstanding students from various classes who performed exelletly well were awarded.

Speaking on behalf of the Senator, Mr Olatunde Owojori thanked the Association for the privilege to collaborate with them on an impactful programme like this.

He admonished the students to be focused in their studies and aspire for excellence.

He equally challenged them to learn from their teachers who were once students and beneficiaries of a summer school like this in the time past.

Owojori conveyed Senator Omoworare’s gratitude to the National Executives of NIDSA and all members who volunteered to impact knowledge.

“I extend greetings and esteemed regards of the Distinguished Senator Babajide Omoworare NIDSA executives and members who made this summer school a success, it is my prayer that your labours will not be in vain,” Owojori said.

The Immediate past Executive Secretary, Ife Central Local Government and a senior lecturer in the Department of Public Administration of Obafemi Awolowo University, Dr. Taiwo Owojori-Olaiya who is also one of the National Patrons of the association while speaking appreciate the sponsor of the summer school, Senator Babajide Omoworare, the 2017 executives led by Statesman Seun Agbogunleri, the vice President who is also the Chairman of the Accademic Committee Mr Egbesakin Egbeyemi and all members for putting up a successful Summer School.

The President, Statesman Agboguleri while speaking appreciated the  Senator Omoworare and other contributors for making the year 2017 annual summers school of NIDSA a huge success.

He thanked Dr Olaiya and other dignitaries present for the honour done the association with their presence. He charged the students to be good ambassadors of NIDSA, Ile-Ife and their respective families at all time charging them to focus on their studies.

Dr Olaiya announced the award of scholarship from Omoworare to the eighteen best students from across all the classes and sponsorship for the West African Senior School Leaving Certificate Examination and Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Examination for the 3 best students in the SS3 class.
