Osun By-election: APC Will Emerge Winner- Alagbada, No, It Will Reflect Rejection Of APC- Sen. Akinlabi

The Osun State Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Co-operatives,  Hon. Ismaila Alagbada  on Saturday said his party- the All Progressive Congress (APC) and its candidate, Senator Mudashir Hussein, would win the on-going by-election in the state.

Alagbada who cast his vote around 9am, at Ward 4, Unit 5, Gbongan, Ayedade Local Government, immediately after his accreditation, said with the turn out of people for the election, he was sure APC would emerge victorious.

“Our party had taken all necessary steps and our expectation is victory,  we expect nothing short of victory.” he said

An APC Chieftain from Gbongan, Mr Dotun Babayemi, also said he was confident his party and its candidate would win the Osun West Senatorial seat.

Babayemi said this at St. Peter, Otun Balogun Ward 2, Unit One, where he did his accreditation and voted.

“We are very confident the APC and APC candidate will be successful. Our party had being engaging people in the town and local government for this election.

“I am sure eight out of the ten local government election result would favour the APC.” he said

A Peoples Democratic Party Chieftain, Former Minister for Youth Development and a one term Senator, Sen. Akinlabi Olasunkanmi, in his own assessment of the election said, the by-election would reflect the rejection of the APC, as his party candidate would emerge victor.

Olasunkanmi said he hope INEC would remain independent and neutral and that there would not be any rigging, stating that if there is a level playing ground, he was confident his party candidate will be elected senator.

All the party chieftains however all agreed that the ongoing election was orderly and peaceful.

They lauded INEC for the new system of accreditation and voting, saying with the process, voters spend less than two minutes to get accredited and cast their votes, adding that the process had really encourage better turnout of voters for the election.
