Ondo Police Parade 17 Suspected Criminals

Barely few hours after assumption of office in Ondo State, the new Commissioner of Police, Mr. Gbenga Adeyanju on Thursday paraded some suspected criminalsy in Akure, the state capital.
Those paraded include five armed robbery suspects, four cultists members and two others that specialized in Motorcycle snatching at gun points.
According to the CP, the armed robbery suspects were, Adeniyi Seun, Oluwatosin Olanrewaju, Adebowale Adeeye, Ilo Vincent and Tunde Olayode while the cultists found with unlawful possession of firearms were, Isiaka Kareem, Olabode Ayobami, Ebenezer Akinkuolu and Joseph Esie.
Adeyanju said that search warrant was executed at their residence where criminal charms, weeds suspected to be Indian Hemp and cut to size single barrel gun were recovered from them.
Also, he said the arrest was made of another members of a gang, Isiaka Adisa and Damola Christopher at an hotel along Alafia-Tayo street, Akure where two single barrel cut to size and 16 rounds of Cartridges, one Mitsubishi Counter with registration number Lagos LSD 432 XT and eleven master keys were found.
The Police boss however disclosed that it was in the course of investigation that one Mnakwe Obioma and Akintimehin Ojo confirmed part of the recovered items as those belonging to them.
Further investigation, he said led to the arrest of one ex-convict driver, Ajibola Aliu aged 64, a notorious armed robber who has served 21 years jailed term and was granted amnesty at Ilesa Maximum Prison recently.
Similarly, two suspects that specialized in motorcycle snatching, Abayomi Kareem and Isaac Ojo both of Okebola Street, Ondo town according to CP Adeyanju were arrested saying they had confessed to the crime and are to appear in court after completing the investigations.
