Aregbesola Becomes a Fire Fighter along Gbongan Road, Averts Fire Tragedy
By Abdulrofiu Agboola, Osogbo
Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola Monday evening literarily ‘dropped’ protocol to become a fire fighter for more than a quarter of an hour.
Aregbesola who was returning from inspection tour of some developmental projects site and Chief Adebisi Akande Trumpet bridge under construction at Gbongan averted the wild fire that razed farmland along Sekona Gbogan road when he stopped his entourage to assist in putting off the fire razing the farmland.
The Governor immediately put a call to the state fire service who rushed to the scene and put off the fire.
Property worth hundreds of Naira had need destroyed before the arrival of Governor Aregbesola. Aregbesola’s intervention helped in restoring calm to the serene community.
It would be recalled that the Aregbesola-led administration had invested in rebuilding and equipping emergency response services in the state, including the fire service, ambulance unit and other related units.
Speaking after the fire was put off, Governor Aregbesola cautioned residents of the state against indiscriminate bush burning.
He promised that his administration will continue to secure lives and properties across the state.
