How Armed Robbers Raided Three Banks, Killed Police In Iwo
A score of Armed robbers invaded banks and police stations in Iwo, killing three policemen and carted away yet to know amount of money.
The affected banks are First Bank, Steeling Bank and Skye bank all located at the Bowen University area, Iwo.
CityMirrorNews gathered that the bank raid started around 3:40pm and lasted for about 50 minutes.
The bandits destroyed the banks metal detectors with explosives while trying to get access into the building.
The armed robbers divided themselves into two groups and attacked the banks and police station at the same time.
Three policemen and one of the armed robbers were killed in the process.
Two other people and a staff member of First Bank sustained gunshot injuries.
An eye witness said the robbers came with four vehicles.
A security source said the armed robbers shot sporadically to create tension in the area.
Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi confirmed the incident, saying “The armed robbers left some vehicles and ran away when some residents reinforce to void the attack. The ran on foot but I heard that they are still on their trail.
“3 policemen and an armed robbers was killed during the attack.”
