Oluwo Escapes Death as convoy collides with petrol tanker
The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, got involved in an accident on the Osogbo-Iwo road, it was learnt.
Oluwo’s convoyed reportedly collided with a fuel-laden tanker between Awo and Ara junction of the road.
CityMirrorNews learnt that the tanker driver and the assistant driver sustained injuries in the accident which occurred last Wednesday.
The medium gathered that the accident was caused by reckless overtaking by either the Oluwo’s convoy or the fuel tanker driver.
Eye witnesses disclosed that the tanker fell in the process and spilled its content on the road, a development that threw the communities into panic because of the inflammation.
“The tanker fell and Oluwo’s escort vehicle was damaged, but nobody died”, said an eye witness.
The accident caused traffic jam for some hours before the wreckage was cleared.
Media aide to the traditional ruler, Mr Ibraheem Ali confirmed the accident.
