19-yr Old Boy Docked For Snatching Handbag in Osun
A 19-year-old teenager, Olarinde Bukunmi has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing handbag containing cosmetics and other valuables.
Bukunmi was docked alongside one Kareem Ibrahim before the Chief Magistrate Fatimah Sodamade on a two-count charge bordering on felony to wit stealing.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Duro Adekunle had told the court that the accused persons committed the offence on Sept 30, 2017 at about 2.30pm at Aanu Oluwapo community in Osogbo.
He said the duo conspired and stole handbag filled with cosmetics items, Nokia phone, one Techno phone, earrings, gold necklace, wristwatch, driving license, voters card and other documents belonging to Adeleke Taiwo.
Adekunle explained further that the stolen items valued at N240,000.
The offence according to the Prosecutor was contrary to and punishable under Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Volume 11.Laws of Osun State 2002.
But the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the allegations leveled against them.
Defense counsel, Mr Akinwumi Babatunde applied for the bail of the accused persons in the most liberal terms.
Babatunde who assured the court that the suspects would not jump bail if granted said reliable sureties would stand for the accused.
Ruling on the matter, Magistrate Mrs Fatimoh Sodamade granted the two accused person bail in the sum of N500,000 each with one surety in like sum.
She thereby adjourned the case till December 18, 2017 for hearing.
