Onigbinde Wants NPFL Back On TV
Former Super Eagles coach, Adegboye Onigbinde, is urging the League Management Company and Nigeria Football Federation to do more in their sponsorship drives to ensure that the Nigeria Professional Football League is brought back on television.
The NPFL matches have not been on live telecast for some months as the former TV rights holders of the league, Super Sport, have pulled out their commitment.
“I’m not privy to the details of the sponsorship agreement between Aiteo Group and the Nigeria Football Federation,” Onigbinde told Completesportsnigeria.com during an exclusive chat.
“The company has taken charge of the salaries of the coaches of the national teams and the Federation Cup, so I’m cautiously optimistic about the prospect of more good news for football in Nigeria.
“The professional football league has not been on national television. With the Federation Cup possibly going to be on television with the new sponsorship drive, it will be nice to also have the NPFL back to television.”
Matchday-28 of the NPFL will hold across the country on Sunday, 9 July 2017.
