Mustapha Omokunmi Is Oyo PDP New Chairman

As part of preparations to fully resuscitate the party for the 2019 General Elections, the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State on Saturday held its state congress at Watershed Hotel in Ibadan, the state capital.
The congress attracted delegates from all the 33 local government areas of the state who came to decide the next set of leaders for the party in the state which 27 contestants signified interest in.
After the congress, it was announced that Alhaji Omokunmi Mustapha emerged Chairman, Hon Wasiu Emiola as Secretary, Honourable Wolimot Wumi was elected as Women leader, Kola Adeoye as Youth Leader, Adekunle Yusuf as Organising Secretary and Akeem Olateju as Publicity Secretary.
The Chairman, Planning Committee for the congress, Yemi Aderibigbe enjoined the newly elected executives to play the ball according to the rules, work as a team and leave no one behind so as to have a very robust and focused party.
He added that the party is starting afresh to build a sustainable and formidable party that will take over power in Oyo State in 2019.
The Congress had in attendance renowned and prominent members of the party, a former minister of the FCT, Mrs Jumoke Akinjide, Chairman Congress Committee and the former governor of Cross-River State, Lyel Imoke, Senator Ayo Adeseun, Senator Femi Lanlehin, Senator Gbenga Babalola and others.
