A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun, Alhaji Sule Alao has expressed confidence that the party will win the forthcoming governorship election comes 2018 in the state.‎

Alao said APC remains the only party that has the credibilty and potential to govern the state in accordance with the people’s will as being reflected in the governance style adopted by the present administration.

The APC chieftain stated this while fielding questions from journalists on the state of the party’s preparation towards 2018 guber polls.

He disclosed that necessary machineries have been put in place to ensure credible election, hoping that the decision will see the ruling party returing to power so as to continue building on the good works which Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s administration is doing in the state. ‎

While enumerating successes recorded by the ruling party in the state which according to him could earn APC the desired continuity, Alao opined that no government in the history of Osun has done what Aregbesola did in all sectors of the economy.

He held that the present government had not only developed the state infrastructurally but also impacted meaningfully in the general well-being of the citizenry through its multifarious social protection policies.‎

The APC chieftain dispelled the claims that the party is in disarray, saying on no account does the APC suffers any form of vendetta between and among the party loyalists.

He said things are in order as its members remain united and formidable not only to work in unison but to win any election in the state and beyond.‎

Alao added, “We will win 2018 governorship election and other elections in the state convincingly, no rancour in our party we only have clash of interests but am assuring the people of Osun that we are working assiduously in putting our house together so as to fight the electoral fight and win.‎

“APC in the state is a big family which can not be divided. We may have differeces and there may be conflict of interests, but in spite this, we have never experienced vendetta and I can assure that our house is in order.

“We have one party, one leadership and we are all focused on the development of the state even in spite destructive criticisms from the opposition.

The party chieftain therefore implored members of the party in Nigeria particularly in the state on the need for them to remain steadfast and continue supporting the current administrations in the state and Nigeria in general.‎
