Breaking: Green Party Denies Supporting Demola Adeleke, Says CNPP Lied
The Green Party of Nigeria (GPN) has denied supporting the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Ademola Adeleke, for the Osun West Senatorial District by-election, coming up on July 8.
Chairman of the GPN in Osun State, Alhaji Rafiu Anifowose in a press statement on Monday said his party at state and national level does not support Adeleke as being reported.
The Conference of All Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) had said on Sunday that 10 political parties, among which were GPN, had adopted Adeleke as their candidate for the election.
But Anifowose faulted the CNPP claim, describing it as untrue, fraudulent and an attempt to malign the credible image of the party.
According to Anifowose, the GPN does not belong to CNPP which he described an umbrella of political marauders.
He urged the general public to dismiss the report as it is the imagination of the CNPP and the PDP which are looking for credible parties to sell their candidate.
