Akeredolu Charges Judicial Officers On Fairness, Equity

The Ondo State Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has charged stakeholders in the judiciary to champion fairness, equity and justice while discharging their constitutional responsibilities.

Governor Akeredolu gave the disclosure while declaring open the 2017 Chief Judge’s Seminar, with the theme; Dispensation of substantial justice in the eyes of the law which was held at the International Events Centre, DOME in Akure.
Akeredolu who was represented by his deputy, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, noted that for the growth of the nation, all hands must be on deck to ensure equity and justice in the national life of the citizenry.
He also said the ongoing reform in the judiciary will give way for speedy judiciary dispensation in the country.
Akeredolu, however stressed that the seminar would go a long way in reforming judiciary and the society at large.
While speaking on the recent suspension of some magistrates in the state, he said the state governments has no hand in their removal
He explained that the development was introduced by the State Judiciary Commission (NJC), which was part of the ongoing efforts of cleaning the judiciary system.
Earlier in her speech, the Acting Chief Judge of Ondo State, Hon. Justice Olanrewaju Akeredolu said the forum availed members of legal profession to learn aspects the law, life and new things in the law to impact meaningfully on the society.
Also in his welcome address, Hon. Justice Akintan Osadebayo noted that the seminar postulated a reformative agenda and an effective tool for an effective justice delivery system in all facets.
